Areas to consider:

Local diving

Most divers want to dive with other divers around rather than exploring virgin dive sites on their own. It adds to the comfort, enjoyment and safety of diving.

The hard part is, how can you do that unless you have a lot of friends who dive.

Join us! DiveTulsa is at the lake most weekends of the Spring, Summer and Fall. We welcome other divers to dive where we are, even if we're teaching class, come dive where we are, say hi, get to know us and let us get to know you.

To find us, check out the calendar!

After your initial certification, you should do some diving and consider learning more.

Most divers go on to take the Advanced Open Water class. This gives you experience is new types of diving such as Navigation, Deep, Buoyancy, Night, Photography and many more. In fact, if there's an area that you are particularly interested in, let us know! This class takes one weekend.

There are also specialty diving classes where you can learn more about types of diving that interest you. These types range broadly and are intended to give you a good safe start in new types of diving. Night, Deep, Boat, Navigation, Photography, Video, Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, Drysuit, Wreck, Cavern are among the choices.

Another way to gain more diving experience and expand your circle of diving friends is to attend some of our events.

In the colder months, we host Show and Tells, where local divers share their dive travel experiences and you have a great chance to meet other divers and share your experiences and questions.

In the warmer months, we host lake events designed to promote diving without expensive and annoying fees. Look for events such as our Gear Tryout Weekend where you can try other people's gear and see what suits you. These events can be found in our newsletter and on our calendar.

Regional Trips

Expand your diving horizons by diving in a wider variety of places. Look for our trips to places such as Bull Shoals Lake or the Blue Hole in New Mexico for easy ways for additional experiences. These events can be found in our newsletter and on our calendar.

One main goal for most divers is travel. Exploring the diving that the world has to offer is one of the most rewarding of all diving experiences.

How do you know where to go? Where to stay, what operation to dive with?

Between the divers in the DiveTulsa network, you'll probably be able to find someone who has been there and can offer real untainted advice.

E-mail us anytime with questions, if we don't know, I bet we know someone who will.

At this stage you have probably begin to think about buying gear.
